« 2 of 2 »

Mednarodna likovna nagrada ex-tempore je postala tradicionalna prireditev v sklopu kurentovanja in vsako leto znova obogati pustno vzdušje najstarejšega slovenskega mesta. Lansko leto, v čast 60. obletnici Kurentovanja smo v Galeriji mesta Ptuj pripravili veliko razstavo preteklih zmagovalcev in zbirke ex-tempore, ki jo skrbno hrani Mestna občina Ptuj. Ta zbirka je bogat zaklad raznolikih likovnih pogledov na Kurentovanje in pomembna dodana vrednost karnevalski prestolnici Slovenije.

To date, in 2003, 2004 and then from 2011 to 2020, the now traditional art award, which takes place during the carnival in the oldest Slovenian town, has attracted more than 1,000 artists from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany and Romania, Croatia and elsewhere.

The award is organized by the Cultural Art Society Art Stays, the Municipality of Ptuj and the Public Institute for Tourism Ptuj and is the largest art event within the traditional event Kurentovanje.

This year, exceptionally, it takes place online, from registration and evaluation, to the award and exhibition. When the situation normalizes, an exhibition of the award finalists will be organized at the Magistrat Gallery in the City Hall in Ptuj.

In front of you is the catalog of this year’s edition, which includes works by 129 artists coming from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary and Japan. An international expert jury composed of: Aleksij Kobal, Sofia Macchi, Marika Vicari, Petra Zemljič, Igor Molin, Doroteja Kotnik and Vladimir Forbici did the hard work and in the end chose the best.

The International Art Award ex-tempore has become a traditional event as part of Kurentovanje and every year it enriches the carnival atmosphere of the oldest Slovenian city. Despite difficult times, with the great support of the Municipality of Ptuj, the Public Institute for Tourism and sponsors, ex-tempore remains the main art event during the carnival and attracts many artists from Slovenia and more and more from abroad. Last year, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Kurentovanje, we prepared a large exhibition of past winners and the ex-tempore collection in the Ptuj City Gallery, which is carefully kept by the Municipality of Ptuj. This collection is a rich treasure of diverse artistic views on Kurentovanje and an important added value to the carnival capital of Slovenia.
