Jernej Forbici, Artistic Director of the Ex-Tempore Prize : This year we have once again exceeded the number of participants from previous years and the participating artists have pleasantly surprised us with both the quality and the diversity of their motifs. The online method of entering and submitting artworks has proved to be the right way to go, with entries for the prize increasing year on year. This is one of the reasons why this year we have expanded our exhibition capacities and partnered with the Ptuj City Gallery, which hosts the finalists’ exhibition in its small gallery, next to the Magistrat Gallery. The exhibition was accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue of the art prize, which contains the artworks of all the participating artists and is an important record of Ptuj’s Carnival tradition in the visual word.

Many congratulations to all participants!
