Dušan Fišer se je rodil 1. februarja 1962 na Ptuju. Študiral je na Akademiji za likovno umetnost v Ljubljani in leta 1989 diplomiral pri prof. Metki Krašovec, nato je leta 1991 končal študij na slikarski specialki pri prof. Emeriku Bernardu. Študijsko se je izpopolnjeval tudi na Nizozemskem na akademiji Minerva v Groningenu. Velja za zelo kompleksnega umetnika, njegova umetnost je večmedijska in raznolika, vedno neposredno komunicira z gledalcem, pa naj si gre za slike ali prostorske postavitve.
Svetloba determinira in definira prostor. Neposredna izkušnja svetlobe na površini in volumnu vpliva na pojavnost, odkriva materiale in njihove strukture, ko se od njih odbija ali proseva skoznje. (»Totalni odboj – pri prehodu svetlobe iz optično gostejše snovi v optično redkejšo (steklo–zrak ns > nz) pride do totalnega odboja na meji med snovema za vse vpadne kote, ki so večji od kritičnega kota 0c. Pri kritičnem kotu se uklonjeni žarek širi v smeri površine. Svetloba se totalno odbijeta in razblini na meji steklo – zrak«). Zavestno stanje svetlobe, ki dematerializira konkretni prostor in vzpostavi svoj prostor kot privid. Doživljane časovne zanke prostora, ki izgublja končnost in implicira iracionalnost gibanja pogleda – iluzije. Gre za zaznavanje prostora svetlobe in njene brezmejnosti, ki sooči gledalca z nezmožnostjo definiranja prostora, v katerem se znajde. Prostor svetlobe je nepredvidljiv in z gibanjem zaznavno spremenljiv. Čustva, globoka izkušnja občutenja, nelagodja, sprememba in nestabilnost zaznavanja, neugodnost samozavedanja, metamorfoza vidnega so posledično zaznavne izkušnje.
Dušan Fišer was born on 1 February 1962 in Ptuj. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and graduated in 1989 under Prof. Metka Krašovec, then in 1991 he completed his studies at the painting specialisation under Prof. Emerik Bernard. He also studied in the Netherlands at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. He is considered a very complex artist, his art is multi-media and varied, always communicating directly with the viewer, whether it be in paintings or spatial installations.
Light determines and defines space. The direct experience of light on surfaces and volumes influences its appearance, revealing materials and their structures as it bounces off them or seeps through them. (“Total reflection – when light passes from an optically denser material to an optically thinner one (glass-to-air ns > nz), total reflection occurs at the boundary between the two materials for all angles of incidence greater than the critical angle 0c. At the critical angle, the diffracted beam propagates towards the surface. The conscious state of light which dematerialises concrete space and establishes its own space as an illusion. The experienced temporal loop of space, which loses its finitude and implies the irrationality of the movement of the gaze – illusion. It is a perception of the space of light and its limitlessness, which confronts the viewer with the impossibility of defining the space in which he finds himself. The space of light is unpredictable and perceptibly changes with movement. Emotions, the profound experience of feeling, discomfort, the change and instability of perception, the discomfort of self-awareness, the metamorphosis of the visible are consequently perceptual experiences.
