Galerija FO.VI, 14. 11. 2026 – 15. 1. 2027
V Galeriji FO.VI se letos odvija poseben cikel razstav z naslovom Srečanja. Projekt ni zgolj pregled likovne produkcije, temveč poklon osebnim zgodbam, mentorskim vezem in prijateljstvom, ki so sooblikovala umetniške poti sodelujočih avtorjev.
This year, FO.VI Gallery is hosting a special series of exhibitions titled Encounters. The project is not merely a survey of artistic output, but a tribute to personal stories, mentorship bonds, and friendships that have helped shape the artistic journeys of the participating artists.
Riccardo Costantini, Igor Molin, Jernej Forbici, and Marika Vicari met at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where they studied in the studio of Professor Carlo Di Raco. More than twenty years have passed since their student days, yet the artists remain close friends and allies in both life and art.
Venetians Costantini and Molin, who hail from the island of Burano, have dedicated themselves to figurative art and the exploration of the modern human in an urban environment ever since their studies.
In his expressive painting characterized by rapid, gestural strokes, Riccardo Costantini focuses primarily on two thematic series. In the first, through imagery of bathers and the summer chaos on the beaches of Jesolo and Lido, he directly addresses the issue of overtourism. In the second series, he lays bare the intimacy of his own family, relatives, and friends, along with their reaction to the urban bustle of their native Venice. They seek peace and quiet in retreats to the mountains, which yield many insightful portraits of those close to the artist.
On his canvases, Igor Molin likewise captures scenes from streets and squares—initially Venetian, and later from other cities as well. At first glance, he also appears to tackle urban overcrowding; however, a closer look at the meticulously executed details, painted in a rich, impasto oil technique, reveals a deeper thematic core. It is an exploration of contemporary society and the lives of new generations—an observation of the crowd rushing through daily life without stopping to give life the meaning it deserves.
In contrast to their colleagues, Jernej Forbici and Marika Vicari have focused from the very beginning on the motif of landscape and the relationship with nature.
On wooden panels, Marika Vicari applies images of forests and trees using a subtle combination of pencil and watercolor, exploring the thin boundary between humans, nature, and space. Recognizable for her minimalist, meditative approach and deliberate use of void space, her works depict solitary trees and landscapes that act as silent witnesses to time, impermanence, and memory.
In his painting practice, Jernej Forbici critically examines ecological issues, environmental degradation, and the complex, often destructive relationship between humanity and nature. His work is marked by a signature aesthetic in which classical landscape painting—layered with color tones and textures—intertwines with contemporary social engagement and a reminder of ecological responsibility.
The exhibition at FO.VI Gallery brings together four related, yet distinctly autonomous artistic poetics in one place. It offers a valuable insight into a more than twenty-year creative journey and dialogue among authors who, through figure and landscape, reflect on the key challenges of our time.
