The intervention of the Bolognese performer Mona Lisa Tina continues the last year festival theme of travel, migration in relation to the construction of identity, analysing the aspect of care and reception of strangers, those who are perceived as “different”; starting with the performance CARILLON, that welcomes poetic/aesthetic reflections related to the themes of care and deep listening that constitute the intimate space of interaction and relationship with the Other.
In the background of the action and throughout its duration, the amplified sounds of different popular ballads arranged as carillon sounds, together with the projection of short portions of three specific films whose director and performer is Charlie Chaplin: The Emigrant (2017), Modern Times (1936) and City Lights (1931). The simple yet intimate action will see me gently combing the hair of those present.
The short portions of Chaplin’s three films are assembled in a discursive and linear manner: a ‘telling’ from the artist’s perspective, also in the light of the most recent news events related to the painful stories of migrants and all those who find themselves having to leave their country, the non-rhetorical tragic nature of human existence with a nostalgic and gentle gaze.

Živi in dela v Bologni.Je vizualna umetnica, likovna terapevtka, učiteljica in didaktična referentka triletnega izobraževalnega programa „NUOVE ARTI TERAPIE“ – Vizualne in uprizoritvene umetnosti – podružnica Bologna.

Mona Lisa Tina was born in Francavilla Fontana (Brindisi) in 1977. She lives and works in Bologna. She is a visual artist, art therapist, teacher and didactic referent of the Three-Year Course ‘NUOVE ARTI TERAPIE’ – Visual and Performing Arts – Bologna branch.
Mona Lisa Tina places the Body at the centre of all her artistic investigation as a place of continuous psychic and psychic transformative processes. Her actions propose symbolic rituals within which an ‘alternative’ physicality is exhibited, one that breaks free from standardised models of beauty. Her body thus becomes a space for meeting, listening and real interaction with the Other.
She has exhibited in different museums in Italy and abroad and in galleries and contemporary art research spaces, including: Residence of the Arts – Italian Embassy, Bern (Switzerland), Kunstlerhaus (Hannover), MACRO Testaccio Museum/Asilo (Rome), Carlo Zauli Museum, Faenza (RA), nm>gallery (Munich).
